SECONDHAND SURESHOTS – vinyl recycling [dublabs]
Video is a year old and this is the first I’ve ever seen it, hope I can pay it forward.
Tired of hearing the same drum machine, after drum machine, after drum machine app on your smartphone. All I do is draw and colour all day and even I can appreciate how deep this craft is. One thing all our crafts have in common is that we take everything we get and we fight as hard as we can with them.
“Secondhand Sureshots is a filmed experiment in creative sound recycling. Dublab Dublab directors Bryan “Morpho” Younce & Mark “frosty” McNeill sent beatmakers Daedelus, Nobody, J.Rocc and Ras G on safari into L.A. thrift stores with orders to make new music out of five finds while the cameras filmed the whole process. The result is a mini-documentary about putting new life into old vinyl.”
Spent the afternoon watching @Supernaturalz92 and @iLLEST_ViBE battle it out at NewMusicLive (@NML).
I’ll have the post ready as soon as I shake this hangover and patch the battle wounds from fighting through screaming teenage girls to get to the front for a better view .. that came out wrong.
